Most of you have probably seen Black Swan by now (I was a little late on this). Aside from the dark, twisted story itself, I was totally mesmerized by the actual dancers. Dancing has always peaked my interest… bet you didn’t know I was a dancer back in the day, huh? I never got into ballet like the ladies and gents in Black Swan, but I was pretty much the best tap and jazz dancer (at least that’s what my mom says). =) During the time I danced, I remember I was always practicing at home – hard work! I can’t imagine my life being devoted to it. And oh, in case you were wondering, I made my famous debut as a gold coin in “Aladdin” (don’t be jealous).
Anyway! One of my favorite dancers of all time is Gene Kelly. My favorite movies of Gene Kelly’s are Singing in the Rain and On The Town. One of the things I remember the most about him is his incredible althetic ability and his high energy. Every time I watch one of his movies, I’m amazed by how talented dancers were during that time period.
The closest I get to dancing now-a-days is putting on my converse and dancing like a crazy person at a club or in the street. ;) But I will always have fond memories and a lot of respect for dancers.
Who are some of your favorite dancers?
