The NBA playoffs this season are the most unpredictable playoffs I can ever remember watching. I would not take bets on who are going to be in the finals because it’s just impossible to predict. If you were to tell me the NBA's career leading coach in playoff winnings, Phil Jackson, and his team the LA Lakers were going to get swept in the second round of the NBA playoffs to the Dallas Mavericks I would have laughed in your face. Next thing you know you are going to tell me the United States found and killed Bin Laden... wait...
For Phil Jackson the day started off with a $35,000 fine for complaining about the refs… again. Then, that night the Lakers looked nothing like former champs going for a 3-Peat that he had coached. They looked lost, tired, and unmotivated. Then they looked pathetic throwing elbows and shoving Dallas players and having two players ejected. My teacher this morning said she had to have a talk with her 12-year-old son about sportsmanship due to watching the game. I am sure that is not something Mr. Jackson would be proud of.
Jackson has said many times that this would be his last season - and was quoted saying that there is no way he is coming back to coach. This all said, of course, before getting swept in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
Now with the way this last series went, I don't believe him anymore. Phil is completive and wants to win I don't see him being okay with his last memory of coaching being a sweep in the playoffs. I am predicting here, Phil Jackson will be back!
What do you think? Do you think Phil is going to pull a Brett Farve and return as head coach of the Lakers next season?
