For anyone that has been watching college football, this season has been STRANGE to say the least. Number 1 teams are losing to unranked teams, teams that were always ranked aren’t ranked and the only word I can really find for this is ODD.
As much as it has pained me to watch my Florida Gators this season (we’re rebuilding, ok?), I can’t help but to wonder what the hell is going on with the QB situation.
Steve Addazio is rotating QB’s like nobody’s business. I feel like Brantley was the talk of the town before the season began and there was all this pressure on him having to follow the “Tim Tebow legacy” but honestly, he hasn’t delivered. His overthrown, inaccurate passes, and Addazio’s lack of actually making the right plays to HELP Brantley become successful has me unhappy about his season so far. Then came the freshman, Trey Burton – who’s name on the roster should actually read: QB/WR/TE/FB (the man is a beast!). I’m pretty sure his performance so far this year has impressed everyone - I know I still have fond memories of his record-breaking six touchdowns against Kentucky earlier this year. =)
But after last week’s game against Vandy, I can’t help but to wonder where the hell this 3rd string QB, Jordan Reed, came from (who is actually on the roster as a tightend – what?!). I’ve seen him briefly, but never had my eye on him like I do now. He proved last week, 10-fold, that not only can he throw but he can run. I know it was just Vandy and we were up by 41 at half, butttttttttt his performance in the second half of the game had me wondering if we had a mini Tebow in the works. Also, it had me wondering if Brantley will be overlooked soon enough and leave this crazy rotation of QB’s Florida has going on.
What do you think of the rotating QB situation going on with the Florida Gators right now?
